Old Soul (AMA)
Old Soul (AMA)
About a hundred years ago, this molave wood was used as a train track -- bore the weight of thousands of tons of steel and the passage of time. When the train tracks were decommissioned, this was repurposed as a pillar in an ancestral house. It stood strong for decades, supporting the weight of the roof and the dreams of the family that lived there.
When the house was demolished, this piece of wood was sold by its owner to @likhamundo’s talented woodworker, who recognized its beauty and significance.
To celebrate sustainability and preserving Filipino heritage, @likhamundo turned it into a special sculptural piece and called it "Ama," which means "father" in Filipino, as we have this famous phrase “Ang ama ay ang haligi ng ating tahanan.”
‘Ama’ is a reminder of our shared strength and resilience as we stand and carry all of our duties and aspirations, love and despair, memories and prayers, through time and life.
